Replacing a User

With the start of the new year, some of the multi-user accounts may be going through personnel changes as people move throughout the organization. A couple tips for account Administrators on changing out user IDs in JSABuilder:

• Delete the old user, rather than simply using “edit” to change his or her name and login. Using “edit” to change users will replace the old user’s name with the new user, and show all JSAs created by the original user as being created by the new user. By clicking the “delete” link next to the user name in your Admin console, the user is instead deactivated. All JSAs created by that user will remain in the account (the JSAs are not deleted!), and will continue to be listed as being created by him (her).

• Once you have deleted the old user, your “organization users status” section on your Admin page will show that you now have 1 license “available” to assign. Click the “add new user” button to assign a new user to the empty license! JSABuilder will automatically generate a password for your new user and email her or him the login information.

• If a user has a name or email address change, use the “edit” link next to that user in your Admin page to make the update. All JSAs created by this person will now reflect the change. NOTE – all users have the ability to change their name via their “my account” page. However, only an account administrator can change the user’s email address. If a user creates a free trial account with JSABuilder, and then wishes to use that email address on the company multi-user account, you must contact JSABuilder to merge the new address into the multi-user account – the program will not allow the same email address to be associated with two different accounts. We are happy to offer this service free of charge!
